Michael Parenti

Parenti in Berkeley, California in 2004 Michael John Parenti (born September 30, 1933) is an American political scientist, academic historian and cultural critic who writes on scholarly and popular subjects. He has taught at universities as well as run for political office. Parenti is well known for his Marxist writings and lectures, and is an intellectual of the American Left.

In the 2000s, he became embroiled in controversy when he claimed that Serbia's war crimes in the former Yugoslavia had been exaggerated in the Western press in order to justify NATO military intervention followed by privatization of the Serbian economy. Parenti was denounced by Bosniak organizations and historians for his denial of the Bosnian Genocide. Provided by Wikipedia
