'human message" appeared in The New York Times on March 24, 2003. DU weapons were first used on a large scale by the US and the UK in the 1991 Gulf War. Since then, the weapons have been used in Somalia (US)., Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo (NATO), and uring the 2003 Iraq War (US &UK). Use by the the US in Afganistan is suspected.
