This symposium aims at providing a forum to share expertise on problems relating to HIV testing for African migrants and on strategies likely to be effective in reaching this target group with VCT. Following topics will be addressed: • Presentation of study results on the perceptions of African migrants on voluntary counselling and HIV testing (VCT) • Experiences with VCT in health services and in the African communities in Belgium and in England • Ways to improve VCT delivery • The role of OCMW/CPAS in health care for the African migrants in Belgium. Organization: Institute of Tropical Medicine with support of Bristol-Myers Squibb • HIV SAM project: HIV prevention for Sub-Saharan African Migrants in Flanders • Helpcenter: Free of charge HIV test centre for 'at risk' populations.
